The Ultimate Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mother’s Day is waiting for us at the end of the week, a day used to celebrate the powerful woman/women in our lives.

There is no way to truly repay a Mother for her unconditional love and kindness. However, we can try; that’s why we have created the ultimate Mothering Sunday gift guide. Let us help you find the perfect gift to make her feel cherished.

These handmade woven handbags and clutches echo the trends which begin to dominate this season (think safari, think Easter, think earthy and natural rejuvenations of spring) . Mimu woven bags are created on the exotic island of Mauritius, which bestows a certain charm of relaxed island vibes which lead to effortlessly chic style.

Harriet Sanders has a beautiful collection of bags nestled inside our Aladdin’s cave. We think the Middleton Clutch, with it’s block colours and golden treasure chest claps is a wonderful treat and token of appreciation for Mum. The clutch (along with all other Harriet Sanders products) is made with ethically sourced Italian leathers and handmade in London.

Harriet Sanders handbags offer effortless style and a little bit of luxury with gorgeous ethically produced leather and suede in delicious colours; all hand made in London. Our favourite part of these bags is the bright suede lining which compliments the different colour leather which envelops it, its a wonderful surprise each time you delve into your bag and are greeted by a blast of hot pink or zingy lemon. This grown up, on trend bag is a wonderful way to show your appreciation for your mum this Mother’s Day.

We have two sparkling necklaces in the shop adorned with jewels and gemstone in traditional colours for tihis season. Pastels mirror the fresh floral blooms of this season -and of course that bouquet of spring flowers which you are not going to forget to deliver to mum! These necklaces will make a great gift to those women who enjoy adding glamour and va-va-voom to their wardrobe.

Finally, we have a range of printed silk scarves by Kapre. The scarf featured above is printed with an old map of the world, broken up by nude coloured brush stroke creating and interesting composition and use of traditional and modern designs. The pale blue and pink intercepted by faint electric blue provide a colour palette which can compliment any skin-tone.

BETA 2015

On Saturday Team Herald & Heart loaded the Land Rover up with all our fabulous stock, along with some key pieces from The Susquehanna Hat Company, Tilley and Tombags and set off to the bright city lights of Birmingham for the BETA (Bristish Equestrian Trade Association) Show 2015.

Yesterday was the last day of show and we have had a great experience with having a stand at BETA. The show has delivered positive feedback for our new 2015 mens and ladies ready-to-wear collections and helped us to establish great relationships with new buyers- if your not a local customer hopefully you’ll be able to find our name in a location near to you! We also recieved a welcoming response to the other brands which we stock and are agents for.

The show allowed us to be more creative with our stand, we really took the equestrian focus and galloped with it. Using old crates and fake apples to deliver an orchard/farm inspired space to showcase our collection which is fits in splendidly with a country lifestyle.

BETA 2015, you’ve been amazing.

Millinery in Bloom

millinery in bloom

Spring is beginning to breathe life into the fading months of winter and our shop is no exception.

Herald & Heart millinery is in full bloom for spring/summer 2015, with an eclectic mixture of innovative and traditional designs. Traditional pastels and muted nude colours and florals typically associated with spring are transformed by modern architectural shapes and flowing lines. These new designs make the soft pastels as relevant to spring/summer fashion now as they were originally when thought of as groundbreaking style staples for the season. The collection of millinery for 2015 has been injected with with a fiery orange, hot pink and peacock hues of green and blue to add some strong jewel colours to the range.

Add A Little Fun To February

Fun February

We have a funny and charming range of cards, mugs and tea-towels from the Alternative Image Company in our shop at the moment.

The products (all made in England) are emblazoned with vintage photographs which are a mixture of nostalgia, humour, and the timeless elegance of bygone eras. The greetings cards have been a staple in our shop for years and now we have added to their family by including some mugs and tea-towels with our favourite images. Prohibition era ironic theatre productions, 1930’s rodeo cowboys and sheep are just an example of the witty and fun imagery that we have.

The cards, mugs and tea-towels make perfect gifts, personal treats or additions to the home- pop in and get yours while there are still some left.

Add a little fun to your February!
